Nature Navigators, PCMS hiking club, completes trek through Norman Wilder Forest on October 26th. Joining us was Ms. Pam from PAC. She was there talking to us about types of flowers and salamanders. We learned and talked about new things we did not know before and it was really interesting. For example, we saw a pink flower that Ms. Pam identified as a turtlehead, because it is shaped like a turtle’s head. I like to hike because I like to see nature and to be in nature. Nature calms you down after a stressful day. I like seeing what lives in the forests of Polk County. My county has very beautiful places to visit and interesting animals and plants to learn about.
